Cultural Respect
Your culture, traditions, and beliefs should always be respected. The person working with you should take the time to learn about your background and avoid making assumptions. Everyone has different ways of life. The person sharing your story should be sensitive to your customs and beliefs.

-
Demand cultural sensitivity. You have the right to reject any request that conflicts with your customs or traditions.

-
Set boundaries. Clearly define limits based on your cultural practices, and make sure they are respected.

-
Request pause. Take time for prayers, ceremonies, or rituals whenever needed during a photoshoot.

-
Correct misunderstandings. If someone makes wrong assumptions about your culture, you may explain or guide them.

-
Honour your image. Your photos should reflect respect for your culture, never stereotypes or disrespect.

-
Handle symbols appropriately. If cultural or religious items are used, guide how they should be treated with respect.

-
Privacy for practices. Keep sacred or private aspects of your culture confidential if you do not want them photographed.

-
Reject invasive requests. Say no to anything that feels culturally inappropriate or intrusive.
