It's Your Choice

  • You are in control. Your story and your image belong to you. No one has the right to force you to be photographed or to share your story.

  • You can always say “No.” You never need to give a reason. Refusing is your right.

  • Ask questions before you agree. Find out: Who is the photographer? Why do they want your photo? Where will it appear? How will it be used?

  • Take your time. Do not let anyone rush you. Think carefully before agreeing.

  • Get formal consent. Make sure you sign something in writing, in your own language, that clearly explains how your image will be used.

  • You can stop at any point. Even if a photoshoot has already started, you can change your mind and end it.

  • Beware of manipulation. Gifts, promises, or offers of help do not count as real consent.

  • Resist group pressure. Just because others agree does not mean you have to. Your choice is personal and must be respected.

  • Protect your privacy. You decide if your face, name, or personal details are shown. Ask for options that protect your identity if you want them.
