It’s Okay to Need Support
Sharing your story can be emotionally challenging. Remember that it's okay to seek support for yourself. If you're feeling overwhelmed or upset, it's important to reach out to friends, family, or professionals for help. Taking care of yourself is essential.

-
Acknowledge emotions. Notice if you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsafe—and take those feelings seriously.

-
Reach out. Connect with friends, family, or trusted individuals for comfort and guidance.

-
Take breaks. If you feel drained, pause the photoshoot. You never have to push through discomfort.

-
Communicate feelings. Tell the photographer if you are uncomfortable or need to stop.

-
Arrange support. Have a trusted person with you during the session whenever possible.

-
Seek professional help. Speak with a counsellor, therapist, or support worker if the experience brings up difficult emotions.

-
Have an exit strategy. Always remember you can stop or leave at any time.

-
Prioritise well-being. Before agreeing to a photoshoot, ask yourself if you feel ready emotionally.

-
Post-session check-in. After the session, notice how you feel. Reach out for ongoing support if needed.
