Your Safety Matters

  • Physical safety first. Never agree to pose in unsafe places or situations that could put you at risk.

  • Refuse risky exposure. Say no if photos could reveal your identity or location in ways that endanger you or your family.

  • Protect your emotional well-being. If you feel overwhelmed, pause or stop. Your feelings matter more than the photo.

  • Limit disclosure. You do not have to share traumatic experiences. Only talk about what you feel comfortable with.

  • Check in with yourself. Pay attention to your emotions and body. If something feels wrong, speak up or stop.

  • Bring support. Whenever possible, have a trusted friend, family member, or community worker with you during the session.
